Animated Minds - Series II

Mosaic Films is delighted to announce that it has secured its first new commission following its merger with DFG Films, to produce seven more films in the award-winning series, Animated Minds.

The first series of Animated Minds (produced by DFG Films for Channel 4 in 2003) was an innovative and award-winning series of three-minute animated documentaries, which used real testimony from survivors of mental illness, combined with engaging visuals, to climb inside the minds of the mentally distressed.

The films - directed by Mosaic Films Managing Director, Andy Glynne, also a clinical psychologist - were a resounding success, being nominated for and winning numerous awards including a Mental Health Media Award for best documentary, a Grierson Award, Best Animation at BANFF, and Student Jury Prize at BANFF. The four episodes also received a great deal of attention from the health, education, and voluntary sectors throughout the UK and around the world, as a tool for education and communication.

Now Mosaic Films, which recently merged with DFG Films, has been commissioned by the Wellcome Trust and Teachers Television to produce 7 more films exploring neurological disorders and the mental health experiences of young people today. Subjects will include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Dementia, Anorexia, Deliberate Self-harm, and Asperger's Syndrome amongst others.

Animated Minds: Series II is due to be broadcast in Summer 2008. More news will follow in due course.
